The Yacht build project management company knew our companies and was aware of our focus on user interfaces and skills beyond boundaries of "marine" projects. They did let us know that a french owner was seeking systems integrators for an unusual project : the first museum-boat ! We met with the Owner's team and began to design and engineer both AV-IT + Domotics systems and a large LED Tunnel for digital immersive museography shows that is to be installed 8 to 10 months per year during Art festivals touring season from port to port…

For the AV-IT part, we worked out an elegant and cost conscious bill of materials with TV sets only in selected rooms, Home Cinema in Lounge, and a very interesting integration of Crestron 5" Touch Panels within Meljac Solaris keypads wall mounted at the entrance of each cabin. These "integrations" give users access to all lights, blinds, A/C, audio controls, steward calls, and informations about boat status, and more…

But the real challenge was to prepare the AV-IT equipment onboard to receive periodically an outstanding "museum" system. We incorporated what we called "ad-hoc museum" features including DM-NVX media distribution, DANTE audio, powerful IP network backbone with fiber optics trunking, etc…

The client's brief was to build, amongst other features, a large immersive room within the Dining / Lounge area onboard ! This ended up with an amazing 16m long by 5m wide curved top and fine pitch LED Tunnel solution with an extreme resolution of more than 50 million pixels
